Rio Paralympics: Deepa Malik has made India proud at the Rio Paralympics 2016. Deepa won the country’s 3rd medal – a Silver Medal in shot put.


Participating in the F53 event, Deepa threw her best 4.61m in her sixth and final attempt to finish second behind Bahrain’s Fatema Nedham, who won Gold with 4.76m mark. Dimitra Korokida of Greece took Bronze with throw of 4.28m.

With this proud, Deepa Malik has now become the first Indian woman Paralympian to win a medal.

Deepa also entered her name into the Limca Book of Record not once, but four times. After the news of her winning her silver medal, everybody started wishing her on twitter.
